Buying Online


So Early June 2009 my beloved Apple iPhone 16GB White arrived and the NERD in me went off the charts. Now with this phone you get a headset USB cable that doubles as a charger cable and the wall socket adapter. So I will have to go out to buy accessories.


The term "Go out to buy" is a tad miss leading. I will have to procure said accessories and me being a lazy kinda guy that means going ONLINE and ordering the goods doing a EFT (I hate Credit Cards) and for the most a week later I will have the ordered items.

I decided to buy the iPhone 360 degree windows mounted phone cradle. Now this things is sleek sexy with 4 corners that hug the iPhone & is purposely designed for the iPhone. I placed the order made the payment and was assured that within 3 to 5 working days said item will be in my hands.

Now the website I used to procure the items was www.igear.co.za .

After the payment was recieved I got a email confirming this and that as it. 5 days later I did not hear from them at all and sent off a email requesting a update (this irked me to no end. why must I request a update) Purchased Jul 02 2009 update requested Jul 06 2009.

I was informed that the item was on order and should arrive in the week. Jul 13 2009 I again asked WTF is up it has been more than a week. Again I was assured in the week I will have the blasted thing. June 16 2009 I again wanted some feedback. cause the week has come and gone.

I was informed that the items is stuck in Customs & Excise and will be shipped out Monday morning BLAH BLAH. Now by this time I am irate and spoiling for a fight. Dammit I was stoked to order this thing it looked so damn good. I have also noticed that they have changed the pic on their website and the ordered item has not changed from a sleek Fararri to a OLDsMOBILE with thick rubber pad etc but I kept quiet and trusted that they would still supply me with the item ordered.

Well Well come Jul 24 2009 ( my 40 birthday) I venture down to the local PO to retrieve said item and lo and behold I have the OLDsMOBILE huge rubber ass MOTHER FUCKER. I get to the office and send a email off to iGear telling them if I wanted a cheaply made Japanese/ Chinese cradle that inhibits the iPhone's speakers and GOD knows what else I could've gone to the corner Pakkie store. There reply was to return the goods for a refund etc. not a apology or accepting responsibility. When I highlighted this to them I was told that I was so racist (re the Chinese Japanese reference) and disgusting about there service that they will not apologise.

Well WTF when I pay for one item I do not want some cheap fucking knock off. Lesson that should be taken from here. DO NOT BUY FUCKING ANYTHING FROM iGEAR unless you want to get shafted.
